The SHY anime sets a date for its second season


On the official site for the anime adaptation of the manga written and illustrated by Bukimi MikiSHY“, a new promotional visual was revealed for the second season of the project. The press release confirmed that the premiere of this sequel has been scheduled for the season of Summer-2024 (July-September)although without revealing a specific date yet.

New voice cast members were also announced, including:

  • Kotori Koiwai like Ai Tennoji.
  • Hitomi Ueda like Utsuro.

The first season had a total of twelve episodes and aired during the season of Fall-2023 (October-December). For its part, Bukimi Miki The publication of this manga began in the magazine Weekly Shonen Champion from the publisher Akita Shoten since August 2019. This is the first work by the author, so no background information about his art can be listed.

Production team

  • Masaomi Andou (Kuzu no Honkai, Gakkougurashi!, Kanata no Astra) was in charge of directing the anime at the studios 8-Bit.
  • Yuuichi Tanaka (Neon Genesis Evangelion, Oregairu, Toaru Majutsu no Index) was in charge of character design and animation direction.
  • Yasuhiro Nakanishi (Kaguya-sama: Love is War, Yamada-kun to Lv999 no Koi wo Suru, Kakkou no Iinazuke) was in charge of writing and supervising the scripts.
  • Hinako Tsubakiyama (Sugar Apple Fairy Tale, Kunoichi Tsubaki no Mune no Uchi, Sabikui Bisco) was in charge of composing the soundtrack.

Synopsis of SHY

Just as the planet was approaching its third world war, super-powered individuals from all over the world appeared to keep the peace. They became the symbols of their respective nations, striving to limit crime and bring evildoers to justice. Teenage heroine Teru “Shy” Momijiyama is Japan’s representative in the world of heroes. When a mysterious threat called the Amalareiks arises, Shy must work with her fellow heroes to stop them at all costs.
