Ichiei Ishibumi He is the author of the popular light novels High School DxDand with the arrival of the fourteenth anniversary of the publication of the first volume of the novels, the author shared a message on his official Twitter account:
- This month, September 20, it will be 14 years since the High School DxD novels began serialization. Thank you very much for the support of my long-time fans. I am very sorry for the suspension of the series due to my physical condition. The manuscript is in preparation. It would be an honor for me if you continued supporting me.
Although the seventh volume of the light novels was published in March 2022 High School DxD DXit is not a publication of the main series since the “DX Volumes” focus on collecting short stories published in the magazine Monthly Dragon Magazine plus a completely new one. However, going towards the main serialization, the franchise is in Shin High School DxDwhich published its fourth volume in February 2020, more than two years ago.
Ishibumi and Miyama-Zero began publishing the light novels in September 2008 through the publishing label Fujimi Fantasia Bunko from the publisher Fujimi Shoboand they finished them in March 2018 with a total of twenty-five volumes. After the last volume, Ishibumi announced the sequel Shin High School DxDcontinuing the original story and whose first volume was published in July 2018.
The first three seasons of the anime adaptation were produced by the studios TNK and accumulated a total of thirty-six episodes, released in January 2012, July 2013 and April 2015, while the fourth season, titled High School DxD Hero was produced by the studios Passion and had a total of thirteen episodes, released in April 2018 in Japan.
Synopsis of High School DxD
High school student Issei Hyoudou is your typical pervert who does nothing productive with his life, spying on women and dreaming of having his own harem one day. Things seem to look up for Issei when a beautiful girl asks him on a date, although she turns out to be a fallen angel who brutally kills him. However, he gets a second chance at life when the beautiful senior Rias Gremory, who is a first-class demon, revives him as her servant, recruiting Issei into the ranks of the school's Occult Research Club. Slowly adapting to his new life, Issei must train and fight to survive in the violent world of angels and demons. Each new adventure leads to many fun (and risqué) moments with his new companions, while keeping his new life a secret from his friends and family in High School DxD.
