Hentai goes viral for its great animation

Recently in Japan the hashtag “#アニメ史に残る壮絶なバトルシーン“, which translates as “Spectacular Battle Scenes in Anime History“, and while Internet users shared scenes of magnificent combats both in current anime productions and from yesteryear, one surprised by sharing some scenes that completely left the paradigm towards hentai.

In his words, “There are scenes that can only be done in erotic animes», and the first one he shared comes from “MEZZO FORTE“, a spin-off of “TO KITE“, both being hentai series produced in the late 90s by studios ARMS and directed by Yasuomi Umetsuwho also participated in the production of “Elden Lied“, “Bungo Stray Dogs” and “Owari no Seraph“.

In case you don’t know “A KITE”, the synopsis writes:

• After her parents were brutally murdered, schoolgirl Sawa was detained by Akai and Kanie, a pair of detectives assigned to her case. Corrupt and immoral, they train the girl to turn her into a weapon, dangling the promise of revenge before the hapless orphan. From celebrities and politicians to influential businessmen, Sawa is tasked with assassinating targets arbitrarily selected by his corrupt supervisors. He executes every mission without fail, and his signature weapon has become infamous among the city’s police officers.
• Physically abused by Akai, who is no more just than his victims, Sawa begins to dream of a life without the shadow of her “guardians.” One day, Sawa meets Oburi, another orphan and vigilante. They quickly form a bond born of desperation and discontent with an unjust world, envisioning a future free of the stain of murder.

Interestingly, both projects were released in three different versions: the first is completely censored; the second is the “director’s cut” that includes fifteen extra minutes of content; and the third is the original or “uncut” idea, which is uncensored. This last version led to “A KITE” and “MEZZO FORTE” being banned in multiple countries, since they are loaded with explicit sexual content and a lot of graphic violence.

But that was not all, the user also shared other scenes from other erotic anime series such as “Injuu Seisen XX (Twin Angels)”; “Megazone 23“; and “Pop Chaser (ポップ・チェイサー)“.

And of course, none of this went unnoticed by Internet users:

• «I think Yasuomi Umetsu deserves more credit for having been in charge of these scenes. It is a mystery that he opted for minor projects and went unnoticed».
